From 11th to 14th of July 2024, Social Espresso were at the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed providing mobile barista coffee bars for two clients, Pirelli and KwikFit.

The four-day spectacular is attended by enthusiasts from across the world, and is major chance for manufacturers to showcase their latest creations. This year the festival included everything from Pagani Zondas to classic vehicles and the latest electric cars, even having a Tesla Cybertruck and a dedicated area for the Red Bull F1 cars. All in all there were hundreds of cars on display, with some even tackling a hill climb in front of the admiring crowds.

One of the many highlights was a celebration of Mercedes-Benz’s first foray into motorsport which took place way back in in1894. The company’s classic division drew together a number of significant cars from the last 100 years, which all drove up the hill in a very impressive convoy.

Another memorable event was seeing the two-time Formula 1 world champion Mika Häkkinen driving the McLaren Solus GT up the hillclimb. The single seater v10 Solus was painted in the same colours as the car that Häkkinen drove to victory in 1998 and 1999.

In addition, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS displayed a number of prototype vehicles this year, including the Grenadier Detour. This is just one of the many special editions of the company’s homage to the iconic Landover Defender which ceased production in 2016 after a continuous run of 67 years.

Mobile barista hire for Pirelli

The Social Espresso mobile barista bar set up for Pirelli was in the non-public area of the festival, essentially set up for manufacturer talks and meetings, although there was also a dedicated area set up with high end gaming and racing simulators, as well as a number of Formula 1 cars on display.

Pirelli were in attendance to showcase their latest Cyber ™ Tyre, and the Pirelli CEO had flown in from Italy especially for the press conference. The Cyber ™ Tyre is a groundbreaking system featuring sensors that allows tyres (the only connection between the vehicle and the road) to communicate in real time with a car’s stability control systems such as ABS, ESP, and traction control. The data gathered from these sensors can then help to increase both performance and safety.

As a long-standing supporter of Pirelli, Social Espresso were proud to be part of their presence at such a prestigious event, and especially that our mobile barista service was so appreciated by the many Italian staff from Pirelli, the world’s best known coffee connoisseurs!

Mobile barista service for Kwik Fit

Kwik Fit once again made a strong impression at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024, using its stand to showcase both its motorsport credentials and the quality of its nationwide service. As title sponsor of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), Kwik Fit drew in race fans with an action-packed programme featuring BTCC car displays, driver interviews, autograph sessions, competitions and gaming simulators. Big names including reigning four-time champion Ash Sutton, 2022 champion Tom Ingram, and race winners Dan Cammish and Dan Rowbottom all joined the stand for live Q&As and fan meet-and-greets, creating a genuine buzz across the four-day spectacle.

Beyond the motorsport focus, Kwik Fit also aimed to shift perceptions of its workshop expertise. They had a truly impressive exhibition stand incorporating a demo workshop, giving trade and consumer visitors the chance to learn more about the technical detail behind Kwik Fit’s tyre and service offering, and to experience first-hand the brand’s commitment to high-quality automotive care.

To complement the activity and create a welcoming hub, Kwik Fit partnered with Social Espresso to provide a mobile barista coffee service directly from the stand. Guests could enjoy expertly crafted coffee while engaging with the BTCC stars or learning more about Kwik Fit’s services, ensuring the activation combined hospitality with high-impact brand storytelling.
