When Adidas unveiled the new Predator 25s boots, they didn’t just host a product launch, they created an immersive tribute to David Beckham’s football legacy. For four days, 133 Bethnal Green Road in Shoreditch was transformed into a pink-themed experience celebrating one of football’s most iconic careers, and our mobile barista hire for events service was there to fuel it.
The Brief and the Build-Up
Adidas approached us and explained thier bold vision – turning a central London venue into a full-scale Beckham experience that blended football, fashion and culture. On the coffee side, they needed a mobile barista team who could handle high volume and high energy, without compromising on polish or reliability.
One wall featured a striking display of every boot Beckham had worn, loaned by a private collector; a living timeline of innovation and legacy. For our barista (a devoted football fan), it was a dream brief to be part of.
This wasn’t just a “boot drop.” Adidas framed the launch as a continuation of Beckham’s story, his influence on how we play, dress and talk about the game. So unlike a regular product launch, that sense of narrative gave the event depth and meaning beyond the product itself.

The Atmosphere
In the lead-up, football fans and influencers were buzzing with anticipation. Would the Predator 25s live up to the legend? For many, Beckham was the face of the Predator, so expectations ran high.
Although Beckham himself couldn’t attend, the guest list still impressed. England forward Alessia Russo joined for a Q&A before being presented with her own pair of boots, a fitting moment that bridged two football generations.
Pulling it Together — Fast
Social Espresso were brought in just days before opening, making it a real logistical test. But our mobile barista hire for events service is designed for exactly that; a fast turnaround, full professionalism, and consistent quality.
By launch day, the setup was flawless. Our team and equipment slotted perfectly into the venue, and the coffee bar quickly became a hub of energy and conversation.
Lead Capture QR Code on the Menu
Our standard event coffee menu included:
- Flat White
- Cappuccino
- Latte
- Espresso
- Cortado
- Americano
- Mocha
- Hot Chocolate
And for the non-coffee drinkers there was a selection of teas:
- English Breakfast
- Earl Grey
- Peppermint
- Green Tea
All with decaf & dairy alternatives available on request.
As an addition to the menu there was a QR code to scan to become a member of Pro:Direct, and then be eligible to get a free beverage. This type of lead capture is an important opportunity for clients whop are gathering data for their marketing.
Coffee as Fuel and a Focal Point
Across the four-day activation, we served around 2,200 drinks. The biggest surprise? Hot chocolate came out on top! That’s a great reminder of why understanding your audience matters. Many guests were younger fans, drawn by Beckham’s legacy, and hot chocolate hit the spot.
Meanwhile, our espresso drinks powered staff, press and VIPs through long days of filming, interviews and activations. From behind the bar, we watched collectors comparing boots, influencers filming content, and guests bonding over coffee. It proved once again how a well-placed coffee bar brings warmth, connection and energy to any event.

Why it Matters
This event was about more than coffee (and hot chocolate), it was about atmosphere, attention to detail and being part of something culturally significant. Our mobile barista hire for events service helped elevate the experience, giving guests a moment to pause, connect and take it all in.
We hope to continue working with the Adidas team on future brand activations, and next time we’d love to be involved earlier in the whole process, not just the refreshment brief.

Planning a Launch or Activation?
This project has been a great reminder of how powerful a good cup of coffee (or hot chocolate!) can be in shaping an event, bringing people together and adding real warmth to the brand story. As we’ve discovered over all the years we’ve been doing this, coffee might not be the first thing people think of, but when it’s done right, it can often be the thing they remember.

Frequently Asked Questions About Mobile Barista Hire for Events
What is mobile barista hire for events?
It’s a flexible coffee service where our professional baristas bring a fully equipped setup straight to your venue — whether that’s a launch space, exhibition stand or corporate event. We handle everything from equipment to cups, so you can focus on your guests.
How can coffee enhance a product launch?
Coffee creates a welcoming focal point. Guests naturally gather around a barista station to chat, refuel and network, which adds warmth and energy to your event. It’s also a subtle way to extend your brand — through design, scent, and experience.
How far in advance should I book a mobile barista?
We can sometimes accommodate short-notice requests (as we did for Adidas), but for branded setups or large-scale activations, a few months’ notice helps us tailor everything perfectly to your brief.
