Cars and Coffee – Social Espresso Mobile Barista Hire
Mobile barista coffee at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024
From 11th to 4th of July 2024, Social Espresso were at the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed providing mobile coffee bars for two clients, Pirelli and KwikFit.
The four-day spectacular is attended by enthusiasts from across the world, and is major chance for manufacturers to showcase their latest creations. This year the festival included everything from Pagani Zondas to classic vehicles and the latest electric cars, even having a Tesla Cybertruck and a dedicated area for the Red Bull F1 cars. All in all there were hundreds of cars on display, with some even tackling a hill climb in front of the admiring crowds.
One of the many highlights was a celebration of Mercedes-Benz’s first foray into motorsport which took place way back in in1894. The company’s classic division drew together a number of significant cars from the last 100 years, which all drove up the hill in a very impressive convoy.
Another memorable event was seeing the two-time Formula 1 world champion Mika Häkkinen driving the McLaren Solus GT up the hillclimb. The single seater v10 Solus was painted in the same colours as the car that Häkkinen drove to victory in 1998 and 1999.
In addition, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS displayed a number of prototype vehicles this year, including the Grenadier Detour. This is just one of the many special editions of the company’s homage to the iconic Landover Defender which ceased production in 2016 after a continuous run of 67 years.
Mobile barista hire for Pirelli
The Social Espresso mobile barista set up for Pirelli was in the non-public area of the festival, essentially set up for manufacturer talks and meetings, although there was also a dedicated area set up with high end gaming and racing simulators, as well as a number of Formula 1 cars on display.
Pirelli were in attendance to showcase their latest Cyber TM Tyre, and the Pirelli CEO had flown in from Italy especially for the press conference. The Cyber TM Tyre is a groundbreaking system featuring sensors that allows tyres (the only connection between the vehicle and the road) to communicate in real time with a car’s stability control systems such as ABS, ESP, and traction control. The data gathered from these sensors can then help to increase both performance and safety.
As a long-standing supporter of Pirelli, Social Espresso were proud to be part of their presence at such a prestigious event, and especially that our mobile barista service was so appreciated by the many Italian staff from Pirelli, the world’s coffee connoisseurs.
Mobile barista service at The Secret Meet 2024
Social Espresso were again providing our high-end mobile barista hire service for Pirelli at the 2024 Secret Meet at Silverstone as part of their hospitality suite.
We have done a number of events for Pirelli, and as they are well known for their insistence on high quality branding, we provided fully branded coffee cups, aprons, t-shirts and all the rest.
Our mobile barista bar was in high demand, we served around 450 drinks in ten hours. As well as the great tasting coffee that visitors to such an exclusive event would expect, because there were lots of Pirelli staff over from Italy, espressos were in particularly high demand.
Exclusive mobile barista bar service for an exclusive event
The Secret Meet is among the UK’s most exclusive automotive events. It attracts top names and legendary sportscars from racing’s golden eras, alongside the latest hypercars.
The event is open only to owners of hypercars (who are members of Supercar Driver – SCD), event partners and VIP guests. It offers a unique experience for supercar enthusiasts to showcase and celebrate their passion, and is the ultimate petrolhead day out.
In 2024, the Secret Meet moved to the iconic Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit, the home of British Motorsport, offering ample space and an impressive backdrop. This year’s event was the largest and most spectacular to date, benefiting from perfect weather (unlike the heavy rain of the previous year).
The Secret Meet also hosted a well-attended marketplace where top dealers and manufacturers presented their latest offerings, creating opportunities for networking, business discussions, and idea exchanges.
The stars of the Secret Meet – over £150 million worth of cars in one place
Silverstone was buzzing with excitement as attendees experienced the thrill of some of the world’s most exclusive vehicles in action, with owners getting the rare chance to unleash their cars on the track and drive them as they were meant to be driven.
The famous hypercar parade and photoshoot featured over £150 million worth of the world’s most exlusive machines, including Bugattis, McLarens, Lamborghinis, Paganis, Koenigseggs, Aston Martins, Ferraris and many more.
One sight which is unlikely to happen again was a celebration of the famous Jaguar XJR-15. Only 53 of these cars were ever produced, and 10 of them were there, returning to the same circuit where they originally raced in 1991.
Working for Social Espresso as a barista for hire has its perks
As part of the Secret Meet driving day, representatives from companies like McLaren and Ferrari were giving lessons on supercar driving techniques, and one of our baristas took some time out away from our mobile barista bar to be driven around the Silverton track in a Lamborghini. Not bad as part of a day’s work!
Cars and coffee go together like, well, coffee and cars
As many people know, there is a long-standing association between cars and coffee, and as we regularly serve our high-end barista coffee on mobile coffee bars at automative events, Social Espresso very much enjoy being part of this tradition.
For example, there are regular ‘Cars & Coffee’ Events throughout the UK. Cars & Coffee is a thriving community of petrol and caffeine enthusiasts, where drivers with vehicles from beautiful classics to modern marvels enjoy the perfect place to share their passion for all things automotive, meet like-minded people, and enjoy a lovely coffee.
There was even a firm named ‘Cars & Coffee’. Founded in 2017, it became a market leader in the parallel-import market for new cars, before merging with Supreme Cars in 2023.
And then there is Caffeine & Machine, a brand that celebrates all forms of moving vehicles (two wheel and four), from first cars to hypercars and beyond. It has created a community by breaking down barriers, encouraging conversation, and embracing the diverse interests of all its members. Attendees enjoy great food and drink while surrounded by eclectic collections of machinery.
