2025 was the biggest year on record for Social Espresso, and not just in one dimension. It was bigger in volume, geography and responsibility. We delivered more events than ever before, welcomed new team members, moved into new premises, expanded into new continents and supported some of the most complex exhibitions and brand activations we have ever been part of.

More importantly, it was a year that showed how far our mobile coffee bar service has evolved. From high-pressure exhibition floors to large-scale public activations, the same principles applied throughout. Quality matters. Preparation matters. And when coffee is delivered with care and consistency, it becomes part of how people experience an event, not just something they consume in passing.

January and February: Familiar Fixtures, New Ground

The year began in mid-January with our annual visit to ICE. Traditionally held at ExCeL London, ICE 2025 marked a significant change as the event moved to Barcelona for the first time. A new city brings new logistics, access schedules and working practices, all of which needed to be factored in while maintaining the same calm, polished mobile coffee bar service our clients expect.

February followed with the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation conference in Berlin. This is a job we have delivered every year since 2018, supporting multiple clients across the exhibition floor. In 2025, the event placed a stronger emphasis on sustainability alongside its scientific and education programme.

With a team of eight supporting four stands across three days, ECCO once again highlighted the value of experience. Understanding delegate flow, anticipating peak periods and delivering consistent quality from morning to afternoon are essential when coffee needs to support long days of focused discussion.

March: Momentum Builds Across Europe

March marked a noticeable shift in pace. For the first time, Social Espresso delivered a mobile coffee bar service at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Widely regarded as the world’s largest and most influential connectivity event, MWC brings together global technology brands, governments, startups and investors at extraordinary scale.

With its focus on convergence, connection and creation, the exhibition floor was in constant motion. Coffee played a practical role in fuelling long days of meetings, but it also became a natural focal point on stands. In an environment where conversations matter, a well-run mobile coffee bar helps create spaces where people are more inclined to stop, talk and engage.

March also marked our first direct delivery for ExCeL London as an approved supplier. Over the course of 2025, we delivered more than 40 jobs at the venue alone, supporting everything from compact stands to major industry exhibitions. Being an approved supplier reflects trust in processes, equipment and people, and it became a strong foundation for the year ahead.

We closed the month by finishing three stands in Madrid and three in Florence, with teams working in parallel across Southern Europe.

April and May: Intensity, Variety and Iconic Activations

April and May were among the busiest months we have ever delivered. Across these two months alone, we supported more than 100 events spanning Austria, Germany, Birmingham, Madrid, Edinburgh, Copenhagen, Manchester, Paris, Liverpool and, for the first time, Bucharest.

What defined this period was variety. Exhibitions, conferences, brand activations and public events all demand different approaches. A mobile coffee bar that works on a medical congress floor needs to adapt quickly when placed on a busy high street or at a major sporting event.

The standout moment during this period was our involvement with the TCS London Marathon ecosystem. Across multiple locations, our coffee bars supported runners, spectators and brand teams over an extended period.

At the finish line, we operated four bars inside the TCS tent, serving runners at one of the most emotional moments of their day. On the opposite side of the course, two further bars supported New Balance, while simultaneously delivering a ten-day activation on Oxford Street for Nike.

Alongside this, we were also present at the TCS London Marathon Running Show at ExCeL London, engaging with more than 170,000 passionate runners across four days. These environments highlight the flexibility of a well-designed mobile coffee bar. It must be robust enough for high-volume service, yet refined enough to sit comfortably within premium brand settings.

June: Scaling Up Without Compromise

June took Social Espresso further afield than ever before, with events in Zurich, Milan, Vienna, Lake Lugano, Helsinki and Washington DC.

The defining moment of the month was our largest Helsinki deployment to date. Across nine stands and more than 20 staff, we supported multiple clients simultaneously. As explored in more detail in our Helsinki case study, this project tested our ability to scale without compromising quality.

Delivering at this level requires more than good coffee. It relies on systems, communication and experienced teams who understand how to work under pressure. Helsinki reinforced how far our mobile coffee bar operation has matured.

July and August: Investment Behind the Scenes

July and August are traditionally quieter months for Social Espresso, and we use this time to invest heavily in the foundations of our service.

Each summer, all 29 of our La Marzocco espresso machines are fully stripped down, cleaned, descaled and serviced. Panels are repainted, internals checked and every component tested. Our 35 grinders also undergo full servicing, with burrs replaced to maintain precision.

La Marzocco machines are particularly well suited to mobile coffee bars. Their temperature stability supports consistent extraction during sustained peak service. Their reliability reduces downtime. And their intuitive design allows baristas to focus on guests rather than managing equipment. (More on La Marzocco here: lamarzocco.com.)

Although quieter, July still saw us deliver 35 events, a reminder of how much our baseline has grown.

September and October: Peak Exhibition Season

September and October marked a return to full intensity. We began with ESC Congress in Madrid, welcoming more than 30,000 delegates from across the global cardiology community.

Across four stands and eight baristas, our teams delivered consistently high-quality coffee from early morning through to evening. Events of this scale demand stamina and planning, particularly when delegates are moving quickly between sessions.

The following weeks took us to Lisbon, Barcelona, Paris, Liverpool, Berlin, Harrogate and Bangkok, before culminating in the largest single project of the year, ESMO Congress in Berlin.

Across nine stands and 26 baristas, we served more than 11,000 coffees over four days. Coffee became a connector in an intense scientific environment, creating moments of pause, conversation and connection.

November and December: New Continents and Strong Finishes

November marked several important moments. Earlier in the month, we delivered our first ever event on the African continent at ISPRM in Marrakech.

This global rehabilitation medicine congress brought together clinicians and researchers from around the world. New infrastructure, unfamiliar logistics and a different working environment all needed to be navigated while still delivering the same calm, consistent mobile coffee bar experience.

Back in London, we returned to World Travel Market London, working for Riyadh Air. WTM remains one of the most influential events in the travel industry, with long days of meetings where reliable, high-quality coffee plays an essential supporting role.

We also delivered coffee for the London Vet Show at ExCeL London. With thousands of veterinary professionals moving between CPD sessions and workshops, the pace is fast and focused. Our mobile coffee bars are designed to offer efficient service without losing the personal touch.

Another November highlight was PCR London Valves, a specialist cardiovascular event focused on transcatheter therapies. Reliability and consistency were key, with coffee needing to be available exactly when delegates needed it.

We also returned to ExCeL London for HOMES UK, serving more than 1,000 coffees across the event. HOMES UK has a more considered pace, with conversations centred on policy, placemaking and long-term impact.

December brought our final international work in Lisbon, before closing the year with activations for Lush in Manchester and London.

Building for What Comes Next

Alongside delivering 397 events across four continents, we also moved into our new 4,000 sq ft warehouse in London. With new office space, six-level racking and a yard accommodating eight vans, the move was about creating the infrastructure needed to support continued growth.

2025 was a landmark year for Social Espresso. It showed what is possible when experience, preparation and people come together. None of this would have happened without our incredible team, and the foundations laid this year will shape everything that comes next.
