Reflecting on 2022: A Year of Recovery and Revival

2022 was a year like no other for us at Social Espresso. After the turbulence and uncertainty of the COVID pandemic, we were finally able to return to doing what we love most: providing exceptional coffee for exhibitions and events across the UK and beyond. It was a challenging journey, but looking back, it’s clear that 2022 was a year of recovery, revival, and as usual, plenty of coffee.

A Slow Start That Turned into a Surge

The first few months of 2022 were eerily quiet. After two years of canceled events and stalled plans, we were unsure when we would get back to business as usual. In fact, we didn’t do a single event until the 9th of May of 2022. But when things picked up, it really felt like someone had turned on a fire hose.

Our first event of the year was definitely one to remember: a thrilling track day for Ferrari. It was the perfect way to ease back into the groove, blending the luxury and adrenaline of the Ferrari brand with our fully branded mobile coffee bars and signature barista coffee service. Shortly after, we took on our first international event of the year, traveling to Copenhagen in May. That marked the beginning of what turned into an incredibly busy and fulfilling year.

The Joy of a Full Schedule

After the hardships of the pandemic, seeing our schedule fill up was very heartwarming. Not only were we back to doing what we love, but our wonderful clients were also buzzing with activity again. It was a testament to the resilience of the events industry and the enduring power of connection. Whether it was a corporate gathering, an exhibition, or a private celebration, every event reminded us how much we had missed these shared moments.

A Barcelona Highlight

One of the standout moments of 2022 was undoubtedly our trip to Barcelona. After so many months of our warehouse sitting quiet, the entire team relished the chance to head to sunny Spain. There, we had the pleasure of doing what we do best: serving exceptional coffee to delegates and clients in a vibrant, international setting. It was a milestone for our company and a symbol of how far we had come since the pandemic brought everything to a halt.

Gratitude & Optimism

As we reflect on 2022, we can’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude. The challenges of the pandemic tested us in ways we never expected, but they also made us more appreciative of the opportunities we have. To be back doing what we love, surrounded by our talented team and amazing clients, is something we’ll never take for granted.

Looking ahead, we’re filled with optimism for what the future holds. If 2022 taught us anything, it’s that resilience and passion can carry you through even the toughest of times. We’re excited to see what 2023 brings and can’t wait to continue serving up coffee and smiles at events across the UK and beyond.
